Beginners/Improvers Course at Silkstone Common


The next Hadrian's Dry Stone Walling Course will take place at Silkstone Common on the 11th and 12th August 2007 - so long as we haven't been washed away by the floods by then! Due to demand we will be running a Beginners and an Improvers course in parallel.

Silkstone Common is situated 5 minutes from junction 37 of the M1 and is also served by a railway station on the Sheffield to Huddersfield line. We are walling in Nabs Wood, which was the scene of the tragic Huskar Pit Disaster where 26 children were drowned, as a tribute and memorial to the children. Everyone who helps with this renovation will have their name displayed on a plaque on the section of wall which they have helped to re-build.
